Larry Wayne “Chipper” Jones, Jr. accepted as Chipper Jones was born on April 24, 1972 in Deland, Florida. He is the lovely son of Larry wayne Jones, Sr. who was a coach and teacher at T. DeWitt Taylor High School located in Pierson. Jones was nicknamed as “Chipper” which he received from his father and other family members. He built up his strong willing for baseball predominately due the position of his father as coach. He got much support from his father to develop his skill in baseball and started to play Little League group from the tender age of seven. An attendant of Taylor High School, Chipper started to play as shortstop and pitcher during his freshman year. After playing on Local American Legion Baseball team, he made his enrollment in Bolles School located in Jacksoncille, Florida. His entry in the team led his team to win a state double-A Championship twice where Jones mark the record of 483 batting with 987 average run in 7-3 pitching record. Jones was drafted as first pick overall by Atlanta Braves in 1990 Major League Baseball Draft with signing bonus of $400,000 dollar.
